Monday has rolled around again after a weekend full of jam packed events, drinking one too many glasses of wine and scoffing down a few of those delicious Krispy Kremes (ugghhh, sigh*). What’s left to show for it is a banging headache, feeling lethargic and unmotivated, my skin has gone into a breakout frenzy and what’s worse is the scales have gone up again (uh oh). So to get back on track it’s time to start the new week a fresh with a DIY Acai smoothie bowl, as it’s packed with antioxidants and essential nutrients that will help us getting back to our usual selves in no time! Yes the fruits are high in natural sugars and will give us an energy boost, but they’re healthy sugars the body needs so enjoy this for breakfast or even freeze it and have it for dessert as a ‘healthy frozen nana ice cream’. I love smoothie bowls as they are super easy to whip up, are so versatile when it comes to flavours so mixing and matching is a must and the toppings are my favourite part as they give it that something little extra!
1/2 – 1cup Blueberries
1 tsp Natures Way Acai powder
4 Tbsp water (add more or less to make desired consistency)
Place all ingredients in the blender, mix and place in a bowl. Garnish the top with anything additional of choice, including; Chia seeds, blueberries, raspberries, banana, strawberries nuts, seeds, dried fruit or coconut. Serve and enjoy!
